  CONGRATULATIONS TO MICHELLE BUCKMAN. One of my clients is a Christy finalist. Michelle Buckman was just named to that elite number. I don't represent "Maggie Come Lately," the title that is nominated, but we are all very proud of her just the same.

  CONGRATULATIONS TO BRENDA NIXON as her parenting book Right From the Start has been accepted for publication by Revell, scheduled publication date February 2009. Brenda will also be included in a Christmas book from Leafwood Press, an imprint of Abilene Christian College.

  CONGRATULATIONS TO DONN TAYLOR for signing a contract with Moody for his mystery Melodies for Murder – The contract contained an option for one more title, but Moody indicated they had more than that in mind if they liked the writing on subsequent manuscripts.

Annette M. Irby CONGRATULATIONS TO ANNETTE IRBY as her new book Love Letters is out as a novella from The Wild Rose Press in both e-book and print form.

  CONGRATULATIONS TO AMY ALESSIO for having her short story Treasures in the Echelon Press short story collection The Heat of the Moment honoring the survivors of the San Diego Wildfires and with all proceeds going to them. Goes on sale December 15th.

 

   Jennifer Hudson Taylor receiving an award at the 2007 ACFW Conference. Her manuscript Promised Blessings placed second in the Historical Romance category and her other manuscript By His Plan placed third in the Contemporary Romance category of the Genesis Contest hosted by American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW). The Genesis competition as the name suggests is best new unpublished novel in the category.

 

 

  Joy the Jellyfish, written by Kristen Collier, illustrated by Kevin Scott Collier, was released in October by Dragonfly Publishing. This brings to the number of 15 the titles Kevin has had so far in 2007. 18 other titles are pending publication from a variety of publishers at this moment.

 

Pam Kumpe: "I pitched an idea to Maumelle Living, a bi-monthly magazine for North Little Rock, he and I talked this week and...I'm doing a column for him that will start up the first of the year, that's 6 new pieces. He also is starting up a travel/discount quarterly magazine to supplement tourism in Arkansas, it will be statewide -- four times a year focused on seniors. I'm going to write a "Days Gone By" piece quarterly for it too

 

 

Paul Sturm entered three books in the Frontiers in Writing Writing Contest put on by the Panhandle Professional Writers. At the Annual Conference in the mystery/suspense/thriller category, Epistle won 1st place and Resurrection placed 2nd.  Epistle went on to win Best of Show. His third title took an honorable mention, pretty much a clean sweep.

 

 

Jack Loy reported: "Just returned from playing in several major softball tournaments in the SW, culminating with the Senior Softball World Championships in Phoenix.  Some 330 teams from the US, Canada, and Japan were there and I'm happy to announce that we won.  We are the best softball team in the world composed of guys 65 years and older (at least we were last week)."
